A Stare to Scare

A Stare to Scare: We were travelling on the S21, Kruger National Park, when we spotted 3 wilddogs heading down the road towards our car. I had my window open to take photos, and they gradually moved closer. This one spotted me and started walking towards me. This was the last photo I took before I stayed completely still. Even the click of taking a photo sounds exceptionally loud in those circumstances. The wilddog assessed me and moved off. Painted with acrylic on canvas, unframed.

Dry River bed. Namibia.

As I drove over the river, the scene with the lovely colours of bush and sand, and the distance melting into the sky, was worth a photograph, and I knew immediately that I would paint that scene.

Hydrangea Beauty

My mother was the hydrangea queen. She had them all over her garden, but the white ones were so special to me. I used loads of texture all over and allowed the paint to dribble giving a reflective appearance.
