Brandberg area, Namibia.

Black Lava Rocks and yellow grasses, remains in one's memory of Namibia. The far horizons. In places, the black rock shows how it flowed as lava in the area, still showing the molten ripples in the flat rocks, and it is almost entirely black in places. But temperatures of hot and cold, so variable in the desert, have over millions of years, of heating and cooling, broken up and been rounded by strong winds blowing over the desert.

A Stare to Scare

A Stare to Scare: We were travelling on the S21, Kruger National Park, when we spotted 3 wilddogs heading down the road towards our car. I had my window open to take photos, and they gradually moved closer. This one spotted me and started walking towards me. This was the last photo I took before I stayed completely still. Even the click of taking a photo sounds exceptionally loud in those circumstances. The wilddog assessed me and moved off. Painted with acrylic on canvas, unframed.

White Lion at Gudzani

When visiting the Satara area of the Kruger National Park, everyone keeps an eye open for the white lion. We came across a pride of lions hidden in the grass. They were watching the elephant drink at Gudzani waterhole and we could just see the back of their ears through the thick grass. When one of the elephants got to close, they all stood up, revealing the white juvenile male lion. I have been playing with texture , acrylic and pen. Unframed.
